Funded by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and in cooperation between Manzul Charity Association (Germany) and the Homs Health Directorate, Manzul Association has launched a project to improve the medical emergency response at the Al-Qaryatayn Public Hospital in the Homs countryside.

The project aims to enhance emergency medical care services by equipping the hospital with essential medical devices and developing the capacities of the medical staff, including doctors and nurses. This will contribute to reducing mortality and complications resulting from medical emergencies, and limiting the need for hazardous referrals to distant hospitals.

Through a series of technical and training activities, the project works on:

• Improving the hospital’s readiness to handle medical emergencies.

• Enhancing the efficiency of medical cadres in emergency medicine.

• Boosting the quality and speed of the emergency response.

• Supporting the continuity of health services in the city and its countryside.

The project is expected to benefit thousands of residents in the city of Al-Qaryatayn and its surrounding areas by improving access to life-saving medical services within the public hospital.
