Since its opening, the department has begun receiving patients and providing care for internal medicine emergency cases, marking a practical step toward developing emergency care services and improving the quality of medical services offered to the residents of Al-Qaryatain and the surrounding areas.
The department is staffed by a team of resident physicians and nursing personnel, under the scientific support and supervision of a group of consultant physicians from the diaspora across various medical specialties, including internal medicine, cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, diabetes and endocrinology, anesthesia and critical care, emergency medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, and dermatology. This collaboration aims to enhance the quality of medical care, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and support medical decision-making in complex cases.
The project is witnessing ongoing progress in the development of work protocols, capacity building for healthcare personnel, and the strengthening of cooperation between Syrian medical professionals both inside Syria and abroad. This contributes to providing more efficient and sustainable medical services and reflects the commitment of all partners to supporting the health sector and rebuilding medical services in the region.
