Manzoul e.V. Contributes to the Routledge International Handbook of Trauma-Responsive Peacebuilding
Manzoul e.V. is pleased to announce its contribution to a new international academic publication through the co-authorship of Chapter 18 in the 2026 Routledge volume, The Routledge International Handbook of Trauma-Responsive Peacebuilding.
The chapter draws on the experience of a project implemented by Manzoul e.V. in cooperation with Syrian Bright Future (SBF), bringing together practical field experience from Syria with academic perspectives on trauma-responsive peacebuilding.
Chapter 18: Trauma-Sensitive Peace Education in Northern Syria

The chapter presents a Syrian experience of integrating peace education with mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) in communities affected by war and prolonged conflict.
It explores how trauma-sensitive approaches can be incorporated into peace education and community-based interventions, drawing on practical experience from northern Syria and highlighting the importance of addressing psychological and social dimensions alongside peacebuilding efforts.
From Syrian Field Experience to Global Academic Knowledge
This contribution represents an important opportunity to bring experiences and lessons from local Syrian communities into the wider international academic and peacebuilding discourse.
